Teatro Regio, Turin, 17 - 22 December 2016. Elegant, refined, the most beautiful ballet fairy tale of all time – Nacho Duato's version for the Staatsballett Berlin – received its Italian début thanks to Bags Entertainment. The choreography and direction of the ballet, maybe the most famous of all time, was performed by Nacho Duato; the story is based on the popular fairy tale by Charles Perrault, like Marius Petipa's 1890 original. The famously delicate melodies of Pëtr Il’ič Čajkovskij were interpreted by the Teatro Regio orchestra, conducted by Pedro Alcalde. The Berlin National Ballet is one of the most important companies in Europe: it was founded in 2004, after the fall of the wall, with the union of the Deutsche Oper dance company in the west and the old Staatsoper from the east. The company's repertoire includes not only the classics of the nineteenth century, but also the greatest twentieth-century and contemporary works.
